Today’s theme for Power Rankings is quite obvious, and I figured I’d keep it light in what is a hectic week of May. I was just down in Orlando getting some BOBA Mimosas, which really hyped the group chat up this morning, so I’m feeling slightly sassy. I’m just keeping it fun out here. And D3Regional left UMW out of the rankings. I figure that cost them a few spots.
I imagine that whoever wins the NESCAC tourney will be number 1 (assuming either Williams Bowdoin and Midd). If the other 2 don’t lose to Amherst, Bates or Wesleyan, should we assume that they won’t drop below 2 or 3 nationally
These rankings throw into relief the unusual degree of room for discussion/debate in the rankings this season. Apropos of the Chicago UAA win, I wonder: is there precedent for a Pool A team (like Chicago) being seeded behind a Pool C team (like Emory) from the same conference? (I’m not advocating for this scenario, just thinking out loud.)

Ummm…. Not to get too picky, but D3RegionalAS left Whitman completely out of the rankings? How did you calculate the Whitman composite average? My math has them at 14…??? Everyone who ranked Whitman has them ahead of Case and Hopkins yet in the Composite they are behind? Sorry… I am a CPA… Can’t help it. 🙂
Since D3RegAS basically messed up and missed Whitman, they got a “42” incorporated into their rankings via my excel document. Any team that is “unranked” by a blogger gets a value of 42 averaged into their composite score, hence the composite rank of 16.8. Shame on RegAS
We all know the NCAA and ITA need to look to this website for all the best information. RegAS should ask for your forgiveness, add in Whitman, and make sure the Squirrels/BluesBrothers get their proper seed on Monday…
I would like to sincerely apologize for this egregious mistake. Whitman definitely should be ranked in the top 20 and I’ll fix that next time!
