It’s the most wonderful time of the year! So far we have an Indoors overview, and our first quarterfinal preview, but those pale in comparison to one favorite things The Blog does each year. We’ve made lineup projections, simulated out the tournament, crunched the forecasted numbers and are THRILLED to bring you our 5th annual DRAFTKINGS TOURNAMENT! Every player on a roster from the eight teams competing has a price, it’s your job to make the best team you can and beat the Bloggers. This, like The Blog itself, is a totally free game and is made just for your enjoyment, though if you like our content, consider donating! Shoutout to Winging It, who came through with a Blog record 68 points in last year’s tournament, beating AVZ and myself who tied for 2nd. If you’re stuck and can’t quite find that perfect team, I’ll be writing an article later in the week with some players to watch based on their values. Below is a refresher on the rules and some important links. You can also find the full player list at the bottom of this article.

DRAFTKINGS RULES/IMPORTANT STUFF
- A lineup must consist of 6 different players from the list below
- A lineup must not exceed a total cost of $35,000
- You cannot have more than 4 players from the same team
- A player earns 3 points for each singles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-6 singles)
- A player earns 2 points for each doubles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-3 doubles)
- Lineups DO NOT have to consist of a player from each position. You may take 6 #1’s if the prices allow it (they don’t)
- Lineups lock at the beginning of the tournament (9 a.m. on Friday, 2/21)
- Total high score at the end of the weekend wins a prize of an interview with me (D3NE)
- The tournament home page (including schedule) can be found here
- This is our fifth consecutive year doing DIII DraftKings, and it’s been really fun so far! That being said, please let us know what you like or what could be improved. Feel free to reach out in the comments section, through email (D3Northeast@gmail.com) or via Twitter. Help us make the game better!
WHAT THE RULES MEAN
They should be pretty self explanatory, but basically you choose six players from the list below and the sum of their prices cannot be greater than $35,000. You cannot be a total homer and take 6 guys from your favorite team. A singles win is worth three points no matter what spot in the lineup or the strength of opponent. For example, a Hayden Cassone win at #1 singles for Emory is worth the exact same amount of points as a Joel Hug win at #6 for GAC. Doubles wins are worth two points, but the same theory applies. Raclin and Yuan would each earn 2 individual points for a win at #1 doubles for Chicago. If you have both guys in your lineup, that would be worth a total of 4 points. Once the tournament starts (Friday at 9 a.m. EST), no further lineup selections will be accepted. Total high score through the weekend wins an interview with me and hopefully some prize of sorts.
PLAYER LIST/PRICES & HOW TO JOIN
We have listed the prices below, as well as in the following link – DRAFTKINGS PRICES. Self explanatory, right? Please note that you do NOT need to pick players from each singles or doubles position. To enter your team, please email me or D3AS (d3northeast@gmail.com or d3atlanticsouth@gmail.com). You can also tweet your lineup to any one of us. If you don’t hear back from us the same day, feel free to send us more annoying emails until we do.
Please note you can only have ONE SUBMISSION per person. For those of you that would like to stay anonymous, please include that in your email with your team name. We will not post your identity and only include your team name on the site. We will be checking your team if it is over budget. If it is, you have to change it or you will be disqualified from the event.
Please submit your team in the following format:
Your Team Name
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3
Player #4
Player #5
Player #6
Again, email or Twitter DM us your teams before Friday at 9AM ET. Somehow some of you are always late despite our warnings. We will update this article and the Blogroll (top left of the homepage) to with our Live Standings link once the tournament has started. Congrats to Mr. Jack Katzman who is the 5th different player over the past five years to be awarded the highest price in our game. Katz…man is followed by two previous Mr. 10,000’s, Hayden Cassone and Niko Parodi. Sorry to the GAC players as for some reason your individual pages didn’t copy over in this table and I just don’t feel like re-copy & pasting all the links.
