2017 Power Rankings, 4/13 + 2 Announcements

Oops! I know I promised this way earlier. I also know I haven’t been at my desk all day to crank this out for you guys like Soulja Boy, so let me turn my swag on right now and tell you what you need to know.  Not only does this post have Power Rankings, but it also marks two separate announcements I’m about to make. They’re both really interesting and I believe will bring the Blog to new heights, as we continue to try and do.

Announcement #1

A HUGE announcement.  After much discussion, we have decided to have another blogger reveal in 2017. Last year’s Blogger Reveal gave us none other than Adam Van Zee, aka our beloved D3Central, aka the “Blog Curmudgeon” as some of us like to call him.  AVZ has done great things for us as he has now been released from the shadow of anonymity, and this has inspired another one of us to officially free himself from his blog name. Last year, we ran a poll on who you guys wanted to be revealed and AVZ came out as the victor. This year, we will not be doing anything of the sort, really because I don’t want to do that any time soon.  Instead, we will be revealing none other than the infamous, snarky, D3West, who as some of you know, is actually D3TennisGuy.  He’s been with this blog for almost 8 years now and that is a pretty damn long time.  This reveal will happen on Tuesday, 4/18, so make sure you mark your calendars folks. That’s announcement #1.

Announcement #2

You may have noticed, but there is also a new addition to the top of the Division 3 Tennis site. That addition is the SCORE TICKER, which gives you updated scores from the past 7 rolling days flowing through the top.  If you are tired of scrolling through our twiiter feeds, look no further. The ticker has you covered. Other than that, I don’t really know what to tell you. Just be happy with it.  The ticker will feature scores of teams that we cover for the past 7 days and no further. Please be advised this is a manual thing we are doing, so this is not an automatic update. I hope you all enjoy the ticker, so please keep checking back with us for your most recent DIII scores!

Okay, now it’s onto Power Rankings. For this week, I’ll be naming a player that has stood out to me all year as my random “Player of the Year” for that particular team. Obviously, there are many candidates and these are in no way based on mounds and mounds of research, but I wanted to spice(r) it up. Ya feel me? I got a little discouraged by the end of it so I scratched that thing at #29 or so like an itchy mosquito bite.  Okay, enough banter. POWER RANKINGS.

Feel free to comment, enjoy, or print these out and rip them up because you hate them so much. See if I care! ASouth, OUT.

How is carl Reid 7 in northeast right now? Makes no sense, he hasn’t beaten anyone this year. And tyler Barr beat Ben Rosen and is farther down. Smh at the ita rankings

Carl’s got 3 losses – one to Rosen, one to Chua 7-6 in the third, and to #13 De Mendiola in a third set breaker in the fall. Barr has only played in like 4 matches this spring with one win over Rosen, while Carl’s record stands at 10-2, with a win over #15 Sanders. Also, @d3Northeast, correct me if I’m wrong, but Vlad’s wins at 2 count as indirect wins for Carl, which gives Carl indirects over #’s 11, 17, 20, 22, 23 (including fall results). Seems like ITA puts a pretty big emphasis on number of wins. Go mules

They don’t count as indirect wins, only the wins spot above count, so id the player a spot above loses, that’s an indirect loss

Brandeis was looking so good in late Feb, #sad. Still calling 9-0 for Babson today
