Power Rankings, 3/9

On Thursdays, we power rank. Well, technically we power rank on Wednesdays, but I don’t get around to posting it until Thursday afternoon. Shoutout to all the bloggers who made it to the power rankings powwow yesterday even though I was not able to make it. I’m still recovering from that 3 hour episode of the Bachelor on Monday. I need my sleep, like AVZ. With March Madness coming our way, we need to make sure we don’t forget about DIII Tennis. Unfortunately this past week did not have many top teams playing, as the top 10 remained virtually unchanged since the week prior. Next week, however, we will have Stag-Hen initial results, Spring Break results, and our first looks at the NESCAC teams.  Should be very interesting.

This week, I decided to ask a question about each team in my blurbs for the Power Rankings. Feel free to answer them in the comments or just answer them in your head. I’d prefer comments, but sometimes the comments aren’t so nice. Here we go…

And there you have it! Everyone should get on D3Regional’s case for ranking Pomona over Whitman. We give him stuff for it every week but he doesn’t care. He just decides to go about his happy-go-lucky life and keep doing his thing. By the way, if you haven’t seen LOGAN, you should. It’s sad. and gory. and both sad and gory. and it has X-Men in it. Well, yea, some x-men. Feel free to comment on the legitimacy of our rankings below. Apparently, Whittier considers them pretty legit as they used ours from last week to rank some opponents on their site. I see you Poets.  ASouth, OUT.

    Random thoughts:

    – I was wrong (& you guys were right) about Emory. They deserve the top spot.
    – Interested to see how the NE teams (Bowdoin, Amherst, Middlebury, Wesleyan & Williams) will do the next two weeks & where they’ll slot in the pecking order at the end of March.
    – I told you that Sewanee’s freshmen would deliver (at least against teams ranked #25 or higher), & that Shoeber & Grey are rock solid. If they had a legit 12.7 type beast at #1 (which would move everyone else down), they’d scare teams ranked 5-20.
    – Redlands is the real deal & could be at #10 in the next week or two. (& I called the win against Pomona 🙂 ).
    – Whitman is 3-4 spots too high.
    – Skidmore should move up 3 spots.
    – You could take the teams from 29 – 42 & draw straws (at least until they start playing each other or beat of the teams above them).
    – Looks like Rhodes has a couple of solid freshman on their team. Interesting.
    – I’m curious to see how RPI and Tyler play over the next 3 weeks.

What about will Emory get a contribution from Andrew Harrington this year…?

    Few thoughts..
Why is Kenyon still in top 25?
Did Rhodes beat someone to be 42?
    Never underestimate Hansen

I kept Kenyon in the top 25 because I think they’re a talented team. However, they are one loss from me dropping them into 30-40. They also played Pomona and Trinity close, so it’s not like they are that far from the top 15.
Rhodes just beat Wheaton, who was previously in our top 42.
      I will never underestimate Hansen.
