We’ve got what you’ve all been waiting for. Another edition of Power Rankings for you to dissect, comment on, and ridicule in the comments. With the ITA Rankings coming out today, this is a nice way for you to preview what’s probably about to happen in the rankings. Except, we can be more subjective about it. Please remember this is not what we think the rankings should look like but more of what we think these teams actual strengths are. Don’t be surprised when I eventually put Pomona over Whitman later in the season despite a direct loss. As we did last time, we’re providing you with the newly formatted power rankings, complete with logos and a blurb for each team. Enjoy, comment, and take no prisoners.
For those of you that are looking to compare against the new ITA rankings, please see link below:
Also, please check out our This Week in Highlights segment by clicking on the menu at the top of the page. Submit your practice videos, match clinching videos, or really whatever you want to either myself or D3Tree. We honestly will post almost anything. Even if it’s how you took a video of your teammate beating you in Pedialyte pong the day before a big match. Send it over, if you please. To the power rankings!
And here, you can see how we voted. Feel free to comment on these rankings as well.
GO COMMENTERS, COMMENT AWAY. Be that guy that says “First comment” on a new Ariana Grande music video. Or the guy that debates politics in the Youtube comment section. I don’t care, just comment!
Love seeing the undefeated mules on the rise
Literally 2 points*
You have got to do your homework on the ODAC this year. Virginia Wesleyan graduated most of their starters and were preseason ranked #5….
What homework do we have to do? No other team has ever challenged W&L other than Virginia Wesleyan last year.
Just thought you should switch out VWC with a better, higher ranked team from their conference. W&L preview has worst case scenario of losing to VWC in the finals. They lost their top 5 guys. Maybe put in Guilford, Hampden-Sydney, or Bridgewater?
Good point. I will inform our regional writer!
– Tyler has the proper ranking now.
– You’re right, Pomona will move ahead of Whitman, as Whitman will drop 5-8 spots later in the year.
– But Redlands will beat Pomona. (Say what ?? :))
– Nice to see Sewanee getting some love.
Shhh….don’t tell anyone. Southwestern lost to St. Eds (#25 in D2), by the same 5-4 score that Trinity did. Their line #2 freshman (from France) is going to knock off some good players this year (he’s real good). Their line #1 Senior is tough as nails and knocked off the #1 at St. Eds. In March they play Whittier, Cal Lu, Tyler, Middlebury, and Gust. Adolphus. I peg them at #33-37 after that stretch (We’ll see.) But Shhh….don’t tell anyone in case I’m wrong. 🙂
They lost by the same score that *UT Tyler did
You’re right, my bad. I must have had TU on the brain (instead of UT Tyler) because of the Indoor tourney. Should have looked at the team’s website before I posted.
1. UC Santa Cruz should be top 25
2. RPI should be around 40
3. Trinity ~ 20
4. Washington & Lee ~ 5 spots higher, Kalamazoo ~ 5 spots lower (for now)
5. Colby top 30
6. Wheaton NR, Pacific NR, Haverford NR
7. NYU top 40, North Carolina Wesleyan top 40
8. Sewanee ~4-5 spots lower
9. Rhodes 42
10. TCNJ ~40
