2017 Indoors Daily Fantasy

It’s. Time.  Time for the best tournament of the season, the one that they call Indoor Nationals.  It’s #IndoorsWeek everyone and that means I come back from my hiatus to become the leader of this blog once again. Daily Fantasy was super hot for a quick second, but has somewhat died down now that half the world realized they couldn’t actually win that much money doing it. Luckily for us, the concept will continue to live on through the site they call “The Blog” around these parts. Indoors Daily Fantasy has returned for a second try as last year’s edition was extremely successful, garnering about 50 entries and generating major hype.  Let’s try and break the record from last year.  Or else.

First things first, a somewhat important disclaimer: we at The Blog do not condone gambling. This is merely a fun, skill-based exercise with no actual money involved. Click here to read more about the NCAA’s position on gambling with regards to DIII. This is supposed to be fun, so whether you have never played fantasy sports, or you lose almost every Sunday while splitting your lineup with a friend, give it a try! There is no money involved. Now, let’s get to the rules so you all can have all the time you want to make some trial lineups.

D3NE’S RULES/IMPORTANT STUFF

  1. A lineup must consist of 6 different players from the list below
  2. A lineup must not exceed a total cost of $35,000
  3. You must take players from at least two different teams
  4. A player earns 3 points for each singles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-6 singles)
  5. A player earns 2 points for each doubles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-3 doubles)
  6. Lineups DO NOT have to consist of a player from each position. You may take 6 #1’s if the prices allow it (they don’t)
  7. Lineups lock at the beginning of the tournament (8 a.m. on Friday, 2/24)
  8. Total high score at the end of the weekend wins a prize of an interview with me (D3NE)
  9. The tournament home page (including schedule) can be found here
  10. This is our second shot at DIII Tennis Daily Fantasy, and last year was a pretty big success! That being said, please let us know what you like or what could be improved. Feel free to reach out in the comments section, through email (D3Northeast@gmail.com) or via Twitter. Help us make the game better!

WHAT THE RULES MEAN

They should be pretty self explanatory, but basically you choose six players from the list below and the sum of their prices cannot be greater than $35,000. You cannot be a total homer and take 6 guys from your favorite team. A singles win is worth three points no matter what spot in the lineup or the strength of opponent. For example, an Aman Manji win at #1 singles for Emory is worth the exact same amount of points as a Max Smith win at #6 for Kenyon. Doubles wins are worth two points, but the same theory applies. Levine and Arora would each earn 2 individual points for a win at #1 doubles for CMU. If you have both guys in your lineup, that would be worth a total of 4 points. Once the tournament starts (Friday at 8 a.m. EST), no further lineup selections will be accepted. Total high score through the weekend wins an interview with me and hopefully some prize of sorts.

PLAYER LIST/PRICES and HOW TO JOIN

We have listed the prices below, as well as in the following link – DRAFTKINGS PRICES.  Self explanatory, right?  Please note that you do NOT need to pick players from each singles or doubles position. To enter your team, please email your team to any of the following email addresses.  You can also tweet your lineup to any one of us.  Ask for a confirmation please, thanks!

Please note you can only have ONE SUBMISSION per person. For those of you that would like to stay anonymous, please include that in your email with your team name.  We will not post your identity and only include your team name on the site. We will be checking your team if it is over budget. If it is, you have to change it or you will be disqualified from the event.

Please submit your team in the following format:

Your Team Name

Player #1

Player #2,

Player #3

Player #4

Player #5

Player #6

And there you have it.  The Daily Fantasy DIII Tennis competition has officially begun.  Email, twitter, facebook live, or whatever your lineup to us to make it happen.  For the second straight year, Emory has the highest ranked player, this time it is Jonathan Jemison.  Last year, I was the only team that picked Rafe Mosetick, who happened to be a below average pick because of Sam Geier.  Anyways, INDOORS DAILY FANTASY will lock at 8AM ON FRIDAY.  Let’s see if anyone has learned from last year’s strategies and submissions. You going to fill your team with singles studs and doubles specialists, or go with two-way players across the board?  Make sure to use the insider information that you may or may not have to find the bargains in our pricing!  Time to put your $$ where your mouth is – beat us at our own game.  Shoutout to Eileen Hillis for winning last year though.  It’s time to get this thing started.  Remember, the prices are also found on the top left of the site.  And with that, ASouth, OUT.
