I am back (finally) with a Preview of everything there is to know about the final ITA Regional Championship for the Fall season, from the West!

Ok, enough staring……We have quite the stacked field this year with many consistent forces and some new faces that I really do not know ANYTHING ABOUT besides stars and UTRs (hey that rhymed), so feel free to input any thoughts.

From the Singles side of things, I am picking Pomona and CMS to have a very solid weekend. What I cannot say enough is how DEEP the West Region is this year – we are talking deeper than deep here kiddos. Especially with the first-years coming in. Redlands is quite impressive from the recruiting standpoint…must be the red courts…..

So I picked Ward/Kuzy to repeat as Champs this year, but they are SOLID. Not many loses last year and some of their major competitors are no longer around. I see a TON of these matches begin tight, Ward/Kuzy’s second round against PP, Johnson/Villaneuva over WHITT and the all PP semi will be fun to watch!!
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- CMS doubles dominance? – I mean Ward/Kuzy dream team….
- Can Lea Lynn Yen make it to another final? – It would be her third in a row.
- How big of an impact will the first-years make on doubs teams? – See Redlands and PP for thoughts; CMS keeps most of the teams the same
