The matches are already underway, but for those trying to wrap their minds around the goings-on of the SW ITA, here’s a quick precap from the Texas Fanatic. It’s been a while since you’ve had mid-tournament updates, so enjoy the content from our young blood!

San Antonio has brought a plethora of results, weather, wait times and delivery food on Day 2 of the Southwest ITA. As the second rain delay of the day seems to be ongoing and everlasting; I sneak away into a corner and write you guys and gals with an update for all you D3 tennis fans.
Was there any surprises today? NO
Was there any upsets today? NO
All the matches today went to plan and everyone moved forward as expected. I will say that the Trinity Tiger that had been sitting in a cage for the past few months has been let out and ate up their competition. The most interesting part of the day was the coming out party of three freshman that impressed with their play.
- Wilson Lambeth – Trinity – Wilson came out the gate with a quick destruction of UTTYLER’S #6 player. His second round lasted all of 32 minutes. This 6’5 freshman is definitely a huge threat for quarterfinal day.
- Gabriel Borunda – Concordia(TX) – Gabriel let everyone know that he was here to stay for the next four years with an on-court time of about 75 minutes for his first two matches.
- Arthur Fagundes – UTTYLER – I noticed that this Freshman seemed to have more gears than the others and a playful attitude as he lost 3 games today.
We have a two great matches in the morning lined up to play at 8am.
- Paxton Deuel – Trinity v. Pablo Gomez – UTTyler
- Gabriel Borunda – Concordia(TX) v Joey Fischer – UTTyler
Watch these two results. Paxton should be pushed for at least a set and Fischer is the man to watch after his power play on Friday.
Well, day two is coming to a close and A draw singles is complete but dubs has not been started.
