This Week in Highlights, Conference Champ/NCAA Edition

Yooooooooooooooooooo. I think that the Blog and DIII Tennis have officially hyped the best time of the year up to a new level.  Thanks to everyone in DIII that makes this sport great – it’s been ridiculously fun to keep up with every team here and the stories behind each one.  While we don’t always know the full stories of every team. let us know in the comments. We can take the heat if it comes down to it ;). Anyways, with the hype, come the highlights. And with last week being Conference Championships and already some NCAA Tournament matches under our belt, I’m expecting this TWIH to be pretty damn good.  Let’s get to the highlights. Shoutout to the NCAA.

This past weekend, conference championships were lit. We have a few pump up videos for you to get the blood flowing.  Mom’s spaghetti on their sweaters already.  JOHN CARROLL TENNIS BABY

Think you got it, John Carroll? Well, the UT-Tyler Patriots are here to set some things straight with their huddle.

Enough huddles for now. We want championship clinching points.  Now, I’m not even sure if this clinched a championship, but this was UST’s match point against Carleton, who I know is a pretty good team. Look at that slice life.

Let’s continue with some conference championships – congrats to the UT-Tyler Patriots on winning the ASC! Check em out later against CMS in their regional.  We have their match point and then their trophy celebration. litttt

And of course, we have to go with some John Carroll tennis – they did submit a huddle video and now they’re submitting a championship video via Jad, who I won’t continue with his name because I’m going to butcher it. 100% of teams that submitted a huddle video won their championship. Take a swing at that next year, teams.

Let’s go down to Johns Hopkins, where we get one of the worst quality videos I’ve ever seen. Hopkins blamed it on Android, but the thing is I have an Android and that thing has prestine video and picture quality. Stop blaming others, Jays.

Let’s now go to Concordia Wisconsin, where we visit a team with one of the best Twitter Header Photos I’ve ever seen. Is it true they only have 6 players? Also, look at this net jump after match point.  That’s some passion that I like to see. FALCONS.

Some quick pics – let’s get some love over to Nichols and Goucher Tennis, two teams very near and dear to my heart. Nichols even called out the Bracket Challenge. BISON UP BABY.

Vroom vroom, fast forward to NCAAs. Rose-Hulman pulled the upset of the day yesterday with a big 5-4 win over Wheaton, in which they swept doubles! Here’s the clinching point, and this is the first actual match won by anyone from the HCAC in NCAAs. Earlham got a couple byes back when our dear friend AVZ coached them – heh.

And I would encourage all of you to watch Rose Hulman’s coach Dan Hopkins talk about the win. Love the enthusiasm, love the passion! Congrats Coach Hopkins and congrats to the whole Rose-Hulman team! Always good to get a program first.

Courtney Murphy of Wilkes, what do you think about Wilkes first round win and This Week in Highlights?
