Prediction time, boys and girls! This tournament is probably the hardest thing to predict of the entire year, so feel free to point and laugh when it’s all said and done. The most popular singles pick was Mr 10K, Jonathan Jemison, with six picks, but we also have three votes for Daniel Levine. On the doubles side, Bowdoin is the overwhelming choice according to the bloggers, with seven out of 10 bloggers feeling the magic of the dancing Polar Bear. Feel free to leave your picks in the comments below, or join the conversation on Twitter where the majority of us will be following along on Thursday afternoon. We will have an actual tournament preview for you tomorrow morning, and if you want some fun stats about the previous decade of this tournament, click here.

Big Blues all the way!
OK…..I’ll toss some unscientific predictions out there.
– Yuan over Al Houni (because he’s a tiny bit better and he beat Kerrigan to get there.)
– Jemison over Wynne (bad match up for Wynne who might have upset 1-2 others, but not Jemison).
– Grodecki over Lipscomb – NE over Cali. (Also 12.3 over 12.2 & Sr. over Jr.)
– Fagundes (with a good match up) over Levine. Has enough in tank for round 1. 12.8 over 12.7. Piney Woods Texas over Pitt.
Oh…& at Waffle House. Waffles (or Pancakes), crispy Bacon & with HBs (Covered, Chunked & Smothered.)
Well my predictions s*cked. (but my Waffle.House recommendation remains spot on – maybe add a couple eggs over medium.).
– Al Houni (the Sr.) told the pup Yuan “not this year”.
– Jemison was very fortunate to get by Wynne (the 30 min. I watched Wynne was outplaying him).
– I like Grodecki (watched some of this one too).
– My texas homering didn’t help Fagundes against an obviously solid Levine. (wish I could have watched some of that one). To beat an always solid Fagundes, Levine must have the goods.
Lone texans remaining are two freshman girls – in dubs – who play the one seed today.
At this point (based on what I’ve seen), I like the winner of the Grodecki & Levine match to win it all.
Regarding the playin for the eighth spot in the draw, is it always Northwest and Southwest each year, or does it vary from year to year?
It is always NW vs SW. Technically, both are sub-regions because of their relative geographic isolation. The play-in serves as the “finals” for that “region.”
