This Week In Highlights, 3/29

Welcome back to another installation of This Week in Highlights. While we don’t have many actual tennis highlights for you, we certainly have a lot of general highlights, including one of the most anticipated videos of the year finally coming out. And no, it wasn’t the latest Calvin Harris collaboration, but you’ll see what it is later. Or in the next 3 minutes. This Week in Highlights is meant to give you guys a break from our blogging action, a way of relaxing, of sorts. So sit back in your lounge chair in the Zeta Phi Beta fraternity backyard, crack open an ice cold brew lemonade, and watch the videos.

Let’s start off with our upset of the week, University of Mary Hardin Baylor over #18 Gustavus Adolphus. Yes, THE University of Mary Hardin Baylor. The tennis giant from Texas took out the tennis giant from Minnesota, and this was the clinching point. #WeBeLovinTheCruuuuuu (this is a reference to an old Weeknd song feat Drake. If you don’t know it, get outta my mentions).

Simply riveting stuff right there. Congrats to the Mary Hardin Baylor Cru for the big upset. You already know my thoughts on Gustavus. Here’s another quick clincher from NCW, their second in two weeks, over a team that is apparently ranked. I don’t know who they played honestly. Coach Hale will comment, so check the comments for which team they played. (edit: it was over #32 Pacific!)

More riveting stuff right there. Here’s another clincher from the GAC/TU match from Mckenna “BUCKETS” Fujitani. The man with the bucket hat comes through once again. GAC is having a rough highlights week, aren’t they.

Like a boss, indeed. Shoutout to First Serve Tennis for the timely updates on that match. I don’t know who you are, but we’ve never seen you and Batman in the same place at the same time. Next up, we’ve got Case/Kenyon, another 5-4 clincher, another pressure filled match, and another video of just half of the court. Highlight for me here – Coach Todd at the end of it clearly ecstatic/relieved he survived the Lords this year. I hear that if the Spartans didn’t win, he punishes himself by sleeping outside for a week.

There you have it. Speaking of Case Tennis, I did see an awesome non-tennis highlight that you should all be privy to. Here’s someone on the Case Twitter playing a very strange game. It looks like they’ve found another Transponder Snail. Boy, are we proud.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that that was PG-13, if you’re into that kind of stuff. Let’s instead go to the land of Harvard Men’s Tennis (WAIT THEY AREN’T DIII) where the Amherst Hamsters took on the Harvard Crimson. Here’s their take on the mascots.

And of course, the moment you’ve aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllll been waiting for. The annual Tufts Music Video, this time performed to the hit song Rolex by Ayo & Teo. Just so you know, it took AVZ a while to understand why this song was “bout dat ranch.” Which also happened to be one of the best parts of the video. I hope showers were done after this video because that’s straight gross.  Without further ado, welcome to Tufts.

And that’s where I end it. To send you all off, here’s a parting video of NYU Tennis’ Matt DiMichael, who is part of the best twitter account of 2017 by a longshot. Good work, Matt. And I hope your dad keeps on tweeting as well.
