Robbie Erani (CMS)
Rain prevented the last couple weeks from being everything they could have been for the West region, but there were still plenty of performances worthy of recognition. The appearance of Erani’s name in this post brings back memories of two years ago when he was one of the most feared players in Division 3. He’s not playing #1 anymore, but in the past couple weeks, he has won five matches for the Stags. Against GAC, he teamed with fellow senior Victor Chien for an 8-5 victory at #3 doubles before returning to a court for a 7-6, 7-5 victory over Central POW Mya Smith-Dennis. In their rivalry match against Pomona-Pitzer, Erani switched partners to help CMS avoid a sweep in doubles by winning 8-5 at #3 with Alex Lane. Later in the match, Erani provided the clinching team point by winning 6-2 6-4 over Pomona-Pitzer’s Max Sabel.
