Week #5, 2012 Branter Jones

Brantner Jones (Middlebury)

This week was Middlebury’s first significant D3 action this year, and the Jones made sure the Panthers didn’t leave California without a win. He teamed with partner Andrew Lebovitz to score an 8-3 victory over Pomona-Pitzer’s #1 doubles team to help Middlebury avoid the dreaded doubles sweep. Then, in singles, he came back from dropping the first set at #3 singles, winning 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 over Max Sabel, and providing Middlebury with the clinching 5th team point. Against CMS, Jones and Lebovitz fell in doubles, but he rolled to a 6-1 6-1 victory over the 12th ranked singles player in the country, Alex Johnson in a 3-6 Middlebury loss.

Honorable Mention: Spencer Lunghino (Middlebury), Felix Sun (Williams)
