ALL-NE TEAMS!

As promised, here are my All-NE teams. I’m not nearly as nice as D3West (we all know that’s simply not true) so I’m not listing one player from each team. HOWEVER, I have made 4 separate teams. 1st and 2nd team ALL-NE are fairly self explanatory in that they are the 1st and 2nd best regional players at their respective positions. The ALL-NE Senior Team is made up of the region’s best seniors with the caveat that they were not listed on either the 1st or 2nd team. Similarly, the final list is the All Freshman team, or at least it was going to be. Instead, it is now the All-NE New Player Team. These are the best players at each position who had not played in the singles lineup before 2014. Similar to the All-Senior team, these players could not have been named to the 1st or 2nd teams. Somewhat confusing, I’m sure there will be a comment or two about it. Anyways, instead of rambling on for a paragraph about each player, I thought it might be fun to sum them up by using only 3 words. Enjoy!

1st TEAM ALL-NE

Plain and simple, these guys were the best of the best. Special congrats to Berg, Jones, Dale, Fritz, and Reindel on finishing their careers with yet another honor (though this one might just be the most prestigious).

1 Doubles) Berg/Planche (BATES)

Number 2 nationally.

2 Doubles) Campbell/Jones (MIDD)

Small College Nationals

3 Doubles) Solimano/Dale (AMHERST)

Huge finals win.

1 SINGLES) Joey Fritz (AMHERST)

Best DIII player.

2 SINGLES) Brantner Jones (MIDD)

Panther heart/soul.

3 SINGLES) Michael Solimano (AMHERST)

Best kept secret.

4 SINGLES) Ari Smolyar (MIDD)

Great regular season.

5 SINGLES) Andrew Yaraghi (AMHERST)

Well that’s unfair.

6 SINGLES) Justin Reindel (AMHERST)

Country’s best 6.

2nd TEAM ALL-NE

These guys were the best of the rest. 2nd team All-Region is nothing to sneeze at. Special props to Wu and King, who capped their time in college with career years. Congrats to each and every one of the 2nd Teamers!

1 Doubles) Fritz/Reindel (AMHERST)

White and Me’Shell?

2 Doubles) Raventos/Shastri (WILLIAMS)

All day Rosé.

3 Doubles) Heidrich/Smolyar (MIDD)

Hansen works magic.

1 SINGLES) Steven Wu (NYU)

Program changing player.

2 SINGLES) Conrad Harron (WILLIAMS)

Next Joey Fritz?

3 SINGLES) Sam King (BOWDOIN)

Make your luck.

4 SINGLES) Anton Zykov (AMHERST)

“Facts” loves Zykov.

5 SINGLES) Courtney Mountifield (MIDD)

Brits dig Vermont.

6 SINGLES) Jackson Frons (MIDD)

A hairy dude.

ALL-NE SENIOR TEAM

This team is comprised of graduating seniors who did not receive 1st or 2nd team nominations (with a very special exception).

1 SINGLES) Oliver Loutsenko (SKIDMORE)

Great career! Wrist?

2 SINGLES) Chris Dale (AMHERST)

Most improved player.

3 SINGLES) Danny Knight (SKIDMORE)

Not just doubles!

4 SINGLES) Chris Lord (BOWDOIN)

Nice senior recovery.

5 SINGLES) Gabe Steerman (SKIDMORE)

Williams upset clincher.

6 SINGLES) Just Reindel (AMHERST)

Twice? That good!

ALL-NE NEW PLAYER TEAM

Ah yes, the Diaper Dandies (trademark Vitale Industries). This team was originally going to be made up of the NE’s top freshmen. However that wasn’t fair of me. So the new list is includes the best NE players who had not played in the singles lineup before this season (regardless of class year) and were not nominated for 1st or 2nd team.

1 SINGLES) Carl Reid (COLBY)

Suit and Tie.

2 SINGLES) Luke Trinka (BOWDOIN)

ITA no fluke.

3 SINGLES) Vlad Murad (COLBY)

Romanians dig Maine.

4 SINGLES) Brad Wong (TUFTS)

Handled tough situation.

5 SINGLES) Jose Raventos (WILLIAMS)

Oh so clutch.

6 SINGLES) Nick Cary (TUFTS)

My Dark Horse.
