Having to wait two weeks for the seeding is stupid. Why not just wait for this weekend’s matches to be played to give guys one last chance to pad their resumes to get in rather than be seeded better? Love the NCAA.

Because this is post season play starting at regionals. Singles and doubles comes from regular season play and conference championships. Individual and team post season play should not count. It’s basically 1 in the same just separated by dates on the calender. (Just like D1)

My point exactly, seed it now if this weekend isn’t supposed to matter.

Seeding can be impacted by NCAA’s, not selections. That is why seeding doesn’t happen and draws aren’t released until just prior to the tournament. So much complaining…

Well we know who the top seed for singles and doubles will be..

Anyone want make some arguments for who they think it should be or who the top 8 seeds at nationals should be for both singles and doubles.

There should be like 7 teams from the west in. West has best doubles can’t believe Whitman and trinity teams aren’t going. They would destroy other regions’ top teams

Actually nescac teams have won fall/spring nationals for the past 2 years…

The West has a superiority complex even though they haven’t had a National Championship Winner in a long time.

Perhaps, but the West as a whole definitely play better doubles. Doubles individuals winners have come from the East lately but as a collective group, the West dominates doubles. Now singles is a whole different story. Once you get past Ballou, we’re a pretty weak bunch.

I really don’t think anyone will get past Ballou. His biggest weakness on the court, is Worley. If Worley has an off day in doubles that could all she wrote for that tandem, but singles not a chance.

The west top 7 teams could by far fill up the quarter finals with 3/4 the teams. And might very well be an all west semi’s. it’s disappointing to not see TX not get in. That just shows the depth. One of the two teams to beat Ballou and Worley, should be in.

Wood and Dorn are a force and seem to have shown that all season as well. They will most definitely be a threat if both playing well. Western final is possible here. They better be on the other side of the draw as them. I wanna watch that one online if it happens.

Even I’m not biased enough to think there will be an all-West doubles final. The doubles tournament is always crazy. Look at last year’s tournament and see how many matches were decided in 3rd sets. There’s way too much variability in doubles for something like that to happen, and teams like GAC and Williams have already proven that they can play with an beat the best of the West.

We’re still the best region for doubles

2009-2010 season west teams finished 1,2, and 4. It’s been done and can be done again

Actually Stevens’ coach is not even on the NCAA committee.

Did Stevens’ first doubles team deserve to make nationals? I would think any doubles team from a top NESCAC program would beat them. No matter if they’re playing 1, 2, or 3. Unfortunately, Stevens’ coach seems to be head of the committee which could have made the difference… I was hoping the alternate sun/micheli would get in instead of them as they’ve had an undefeated season with a much more difficult schedule.

Sun/Micheli are Williams’ 2nd doubles team, I doubt anyone they faced was better than the ones Stevens played.

Congratulations — you proved me wrong. You deserve it. Sorry the team went down today but good luck at individuals.

Caulfield should be in as #8 from A south over Carey from Mary Wash.

      So many people got screwed

      1. D3AtlanticSouth

Carey just happened to beat the #1 player in the region, White, on the last day of the year. So no, Caulfield should not be in over Carey. Take your pick over Prostak maybe, but it’s hard to argue that. What has Caulfield done since ITAs? Not much of anything
