I Would love to see a recap of individual singles and doubles. Some surprises in both draws!

Watch out for Michael Holt and DJ Shamshiri. Holt’s all that and a bag of chips if you know what I mean and there isn’t enough candy in the state of Virginia to describe how sweet Shamshiri’s game is.

    Love,

    Fabrice

Can we give some love to Holt and Shamshiri please…. A 1 star freshman and a sophomore making the semis of doubles Is pretty damn legit.

Holt isn’t a true 1 star..If you look at his 2010 and 2011 rankings, he’s clearly a high 2 star that just stopped playing tournaments his senior year

Not to mention hes also 6’4 and a lefty

Wow, Putterman with one of the more impressive displays of conditioning this week. A well-deserved singles championship for the senior!

How does All American work? Does everyone who qualifies for the tournament get receive All American recognition? Do you have to win a match or go deeper?

Good lord Kahan played amazing. Man my boy skinner was rollin and playing some solid tennis and Kahan comes out and just goes toe to toe sluggin balls and straight beats skinner. Hell of a match Mark it was a pleasure watching that match. Putterman/Kahan should be a great final good luck to both players

After a few first round jitters, Putterman crushed Caulfield. His chances are looking really good especially since Ballou lost.

      Good call.

Anyone see the Caufield/Putterman match? Not surprised at the result, but surprised that the score was so lopsided.

Caulfield’s game really isn’t suited for indoors. Putterman was able to crank at just about everything.

Thanks. I have to say, Caulfield was one of the most exciting and entertaining–not saying the best–D3 players I’ve had the privelege to watch, so I was disappointed at the scoreline. Thanks for the insight.

What happened there at end of wash u and Whittier doubles match?

    1. d3tennisguy

Whitman player called “Up” or “Watch” while attempting to lob. It didn’t end up being a lob. A. Putt missed an easy volley and complained. Ump sided with him for some reason unbeknownst to me. Really fun match to watch though!

Props to Kahan. Everyone in the Northeast knows that he has been one of the best players in the country for the last four years, but for some reason he’s never made a big splash at the individual tournament. Hope he finally gets his due.
