A Question That Needs An Answer

Question for all of the readers and I hope I can get a correct answer. New NCAA structure this year with 43 teams comprised of 30 AQ conferences, 6 Pool B teams and 7 Pool C teams. Can someone either a) tell me who the 30th conference is to get an AQ bid (its up from 29 last year) or b) link me to the NCAA championships handbook for this year which I can’t seem to find online.

Interested to know this because I want to write a big bracketology after this weekend’s UAA tournament and who that 30th team is could have a lot of geographic significance on how the brackets end up. I have a feeling it could be the Liberty League (Vassar, Skidmore, etc.), but that’s really a guess. Any correct response would be much appreciated.

Is anyone knowledgeable enough to project the winners of each of these AQ conferences?

I was just wondering if there will be any write-up about the Ojai tournament going on this weekend in Southern California? This tournament has always been important in terms of western regional rankings and national tournament implications

I’ll probably mention the results in passing, but I won’t really cover it. It only really matters for individual rankings, which is relatively unimportant to me. It is also sometimes completely inconsequential; last year, the singles tournament went almost exactly according to seed, except pybas got injured and a doubles team from Redlands won the whole tournament (which didn’t affect their regional standing at all because it was their 2 or 3 doubles team).

Pool B is very clear: Santa Cruz, Skidmore, MIT, Vassar, Whitewater, College of New Jersey.

I agree with this Im not aware of anyone else who would be competitive here

  4. Pool C

So if I read this correctly there are 7 Pool C bids, not 6? Who do you think the extra team will be?
