Happy Monday, boys and girls. It’s #IndoorsWeek here at the Blog so we’re doing what we do best, bringing you more DIII coverage than you know what to do with. We’ll have four QF previews along with D3AS’ X-Factors for the tournament, not to mention Semifinal and Final previews later in the weekend. And if we just gave you that, it would be enough, but we give you so…much…more. 2019 DRAFTKINGS IS HERE Y’ALL! You can click that link to see the players and prices, or just look at the table at the bottom of the article. This is also literally D3AS’ favorite thing we do, so you know he’ll be annoyingly active on Twitter throughout this week. We have a full refresher on our tournament rules below and here is the Indoors website in all its glory. Chicago, Emory, GAC, Wash U, CMU, PP, Whitman and Case are all gearing up, and SO ARE WE! Who will take you to glory this year? Spoiler alert, but Hayden Cassone is the highest priced player in this year’s game, earning the moniker of Mr. 10k 2019, following the likes of Niko Parodi, Jonathan Jemison and Rafe Mosetick. The real question is who will be the cinderella story who take your team to glory this year? Which players will turn your squad from zeroes to heroes and earn the coveted Blog interview? Enough bluster, IT’S DRAFTKINGS TIME!
First things first, our annual reminder that we at The Blog do not condone gambling. This is merely a fun, skill-based exercise with no actual money involved. Click here to read more about the NCAA’s position on gambling with regards to DIII. This is supposed to be fun, so whether you have never played fantasy sports, or you lose almost every Sunday while splitting your lineup with a friend, give it a try! There is no money involved. Now, let’s get to the rules so you all can have all the time you want to make some trial lineups.
DRAFTKINGS RULES/IMPORTANT STUFF
- A lineup must consist of 6 different players from the list below
- A lineup must not exceed a total cost of $35,000
- You must take players from at least two different teams
- A player earns 3 points for each singles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-6 singles)
- A player earns 2 points for each doubles win at any position in the starting lineup (#1-3 doubles)
- Lineups DO NOT have to consist of a player from each position. You may take 6 #1’s if the prices allow it (they don’t)
- Lineups lock at the beginning of the tournament (9 a.m. on Friday, 2/23)
- Total high score at the end of the weekend wins a prize of an interview with me (D3NE)
- The tournament home page (including schedule) can be found here
- This is our fourth consecutive year doing DIII Tennis Daily Fantasy, and it’s been really fun so far! That being said, please let us know what you like or what could be improved. Feel free to reach out in the comments section, through email (D3Northeast@gmail.com) or via Twitter. Help us make the game better!
WHAT THE RULES MEAN
They should be pretty self explanatory, but basically you choose six players from the list below and the sum of their prices cannot be greater than $35,000. You cannot be a total homer and take 6 guys from your favorite team. A singles win is worth three points no matter what spot in the lineup or the strength of opponent. For example, a Jonathan Jemison win at #1 singles for Emory is worth the exact same amount of points as a Bear Lee win at #6 for Whitman. Doubles wins are worth two points, but the same theory applies. Raclin and Yuan would each earn 2 individual points for a win at #1 doubles for Chicago. If you have both guys in your lineup, that would be worth a total of 4 points. Once the tournament starts (Friday at 9 a.m. EST), no further lineup selections will be accepted. Total high score through the weekend wins an interview with me and hopefully some prize of sorts.
PLAYER LIST/PRICES and HOW TO JOIN
We have listed the prices below, as well as in the following link – DRAFTKINGS PRICES. Self explanatory, right? Please note that you do NOT need to pick players from each singles or doubles position. To enter your team, please email either D3AS or myself your team (d3northeast@gmail.com or d3atlanticsouth@gmail.com). You can also tweet your lineup to any one of us. Ask for a confirmation please, thanks!
Please note you can only have ONE SUBMISSION per person. For those of you that would like to stay anonymous, please include that in your email with your team name. We will not post your identity and only include your team name on the site. We will be checking your team if it is over budget. If it is, you have to change it or you will be disqualified from the event.
Please submit your team in the following format:
Your Team Name
Player #1
Player #2,
Player #3
Player #4
Player #5
Player #6
Again, email or Twitter DM us your teams before Friday at 9AM ET. Somehow some of you are always late despite our warnings. D3AS has FORCED me to remind all of you that he’s had the highest blogger score two years in a row in this event (shoutout to both Greg Janssen and Matt Von Vogt who won the overall event last year), so if you could all please try your absolute best to beat him, that would be great. Happy Draftkings-ing!
